So I guess just driving through a State doesn’t give you a sticker on the map?
Were there seriously no places between where you were and Jacksonville where you could have had the Jeep fixed?! That’s amazing. But at least you got to see your kids, and that’s worth the side trip.
Keep us up to date with how you’re doing, O.K.?
No, all the repair shops wanted to keep the Jeep for three weeks minimum. We wouldn’t have a vehicle for running chores. So Jax was the only place we could go so I could borrow my DIL’s car while the Jeep was in the shop. I also had to go to a Navy Base to activate the new ID card I got when I lost my wallet.
Just had my mapping probe surgery done today. Went well but a little sore. As long as the imaging they got today doesn’t show any problems, they will be inserting the radiation pellet in my liver in two weeks. Arionis recently posted…The RVidiots Make A Mad Dash To Florida
Holy crap! I thought that getting radiated was like having a long X-Ray kind of thing – like a laser gun shooting gamma rays at you. Yes, stupid sounding, but I didn’t know they actually inserted a pellet into an organ. How long is it supposed to last? Will more follow? I had cancer, members of my family have had it, but nobody ever had radiation. Some had chemo – will you need that too?
This is a different type of radiation treatment that works well with liver tumors. The pellet will last several weeks. My doctor thinks that one dose will get this tumor and there will be no chemo. They just need to stop the growth of this one so that it doesn’t get outside my liver while the transplant is being set up.
So I’ve got to ask the important question: how did Michelle like the smoked fish dip? The ferry ride looked pretty fun too. Although I really feel like the important thing was just getting out of the Love’s truck stop. I really love Love’s truck stops too. Never stayed in one but they’re a nice place to pick up postcards, which can be a fun thing to do on the road. Christopher recently posted…Nightmare At 51.6 Inches.
She said she liked it but I don’t think she had quite the level of enthusiasm my taste buds get me worked up for it. I’ve ordered smoked fish dip in several other eateries and nothing has come close so far.
That was an interesting, and as of now, only overnight we did at a truck stop. Getting blocked in is a constant fear of a flat tower. I’ve had some other hairy narrow escapes too. Loves is a great place though. As fulltime RVers that one, Pilot, and Buckees, are our go to spots to stop. Had an incident at one of the Buckees you’ll be seeing eventually. Of course at the pace I put out videos it might be March of next year before I get to it.
