Video Didn’t Kill The Podcast Star!
It’s true! Podcasts seem to have increased in popularity in recent years. They would probably be even more popular if older Gen X and Baby Boomers didn’t think they were some exotic technology best left to Millennials and Gen Z. It’s basically just like listening to people talk on the radio except you listen on your computer or phone.
Different kind of pod.
Anyway, the point of this post is not to educate you on podcasts, it’s to let you know that I was a guest on one! If you remember from my Trail Days post, I met Steve “Mighty Blue” Adams in the Author’s Tent. If you are not a hiker then you’ve probably never heard of him. In the hiker world he is a pretty big deal as he hosts a very popular podcast called “Mighty Blue on the Appalachian Trail”. He is the star I am referring to in the post title. He invited me to be a guest on his podcast and I was hesitant at first as I don’t speak well in front of others. He told me not to worry about that, it was his job to make a guest feel comfortable and get the best stories out of them. I thought about it for a bit and then agreed to do it. I’m glad I did. I had a fantastic time chatting with Steve. We talked about how I got into hiking, the adversity I went through with my liver issue, and the books I wrote. Steve is such a good host, always asking just the right questions and seizing on any opportunity to steer the conversation to an interesting or funny point. His British deep voice lends to an already well put together production.
You can listen to the episode I was on below. Also, check out other episodes. They are great!

Great interview. It was wonderful hearing you sound so healthy and vibrant again. I expect to hear the background music of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” when your next video comes out!
Thank you and shall grant your request!
